As the sun set over Soléna Estates vineyard, those attending the harvest dinner enjoyed the chance to reflect on their year over a glass of wine.
Harvest is the culmination of a year of hard work in the vineyards. It is a reminder of the seasons required to bring the vines to fruition and also a time for individuals to reflect on all that has happened during the year and to look forward to the coming year.
On a perfect September evening Soléna Estates Vineyards offered those attending their annual harvest dinner the opportunity to enjoy the grounds and savor the Soléna wine while enjoying a special meal from Chef Ricardo Antunez..
Soléna Estates Vineyard provided a perfect venue for harvest dinner attendees to reflect on the year, enjoying the surroundings of the estate and the perfect fall weather.
Chef Ricardo spent the day preparing the five course meal which included a roasted pig as the main course. Each course was paired specifically with a specific wine. The five courses included: Even Pull Farm Fall Salad Mix which corsentained roasted beet, candied pumpkin seeds, caldron blue cheese, pickled pear and Jerez vinaigrette. It was paired with a 2017 Willamette Valley Pinot Gris.
Sopa de Hongos, a tasty soup was the second course followed by Roasted Delicate Squash and Farro Salad with quiet fresco, cartelized zinio, liquid;l;o peppers, and arugula. This was paired with 2016 Domain Danielle Laurent Vineyard Chardonay.
The main course, the Roasted Carlton Farms Pork cooked in a Caja China (a portable roasting pit). It was paired with a 2016 Hyland Vineyard Pinot Noir.
Desert was a divine Abuelitas Chocolate with blueberries and peptic praline and the 2015 Prince Hill Pinot Noir.
