Tickets are on sale for Bounty of Yamhill County 2016.
The annual event runs Friday to Sunday, Aug. 26 to 28. Now in its sixth year, Bounty of Yamhill County is the major annual fundraiser for the Yamhill Enrichment Society. The wine and food festival is YES’ largest fundraiser and provides funds for efforts such as the Early Childhood Literacy Program.
"There's no place like Yamhill County," said Susan Sokol Blosser, founder of YES and organizer of BOYC. "We are uniquely positioned to grow amazing food and wine, and that has attracted true pioneers in those industries to create a very unique culinary scene. It's also absolutely beautiful here, and a great place enjoy an array of outdoor activities. This year, guests will truly be able to experience all that Yamhill County has to offer."
Several events have been added this year, including hiking, yoga, hot-air ballooning and horseback riding. The schedule includes:
Friday, Aug. 26
Winemaker Grill & Chill: Dinners will be served in both McMinnville and Newberg. Cost:$50.
Saturday, Aug. 27
Up, Up & Away: Hot-air balloon rides will be offered from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Vista Balloon Adventures, 1050 Commerce Parkway, Newberg. Cost: $225.
Stretch & Sip Brunch: Yoga and wine will be offered at Anne Amie, 6580 N.E. Mineral Springs Road from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost: 60.
Vineyard Hike & Vineyard Lunch: There will be a hike from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Willakia Vineyard in Amity. Cost: $75.
Winemaker Dinners: Dinner is served between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. at Winderlea Vineyard & Winery, 8905 N.E. Worden Hill Road, Dundee. Cost: $125.
Sunday, Aug. 28
River Paddle & Winery Picnic: A canoe trip is planned between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., starting from the Chehalem Paddle Launch, 3100 S.E. Eighth St., Dundee. Cost: $75.
Zing! Food & Wine Together: A wine workshop lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at R. Stuart & Co., 845 N.E. Fifth St., McMinnville. Cost: $85.
Giddy Up: Horseback riding is offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting from Winter’s Hill Vineyard, 6451 N.E. Hilltop Lane. Cost: $195.
Big Night: The weekend concludes with a dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Sokol Blosser Winery, 5000 N.E. Sokol Blosser Lane, Dayton. Cost: $150.
